The Koontz Lake Regional Sewer District retained JPR to provide a Preliminary Engineering Report and Environmental Assessment. These detailed studies reviewed five alternates for wastewater treatment including an in-depth analysis of both the Hamlet and Walkerton wastewater facilities in Indiana. The Report included cost estimates for construction and operation, timelines, and implementation strategies – and it was completed and approved by the USDA in record time.
JPR, based on the recommendations of the PER, designed 13.5-miles of low-pressure collection system for over 900 new customers. In addition, the firm designed an extended aeration treatment plant and provided construction inspection services for all project components. The community still uses a $55/mo./REU rate today.
