Earthway Rail Park, Phase 4 (INDOT)

Bristol, Indiana

JPR designed Phase 4 of the Earthway Rail Park Project for the Town of Bristol in Elkhart County. In addition to the design of full-depth HMA pavement and shoulders for the new Stonemont Court, JPR prepared a Traffic Study for INDOT on the traffic impacts to SR 120, adjacent to the new roadway.

The study recommended improvements to 0.45-miles of SR 120, which JPR designed to INDOT approval. This included full-depth HMA pavement for added traffic lanes with HMA shoulder, HMA milling and resurface maintenance of traffic and detour plan, topographic survey, utility coordination with utility relocations, geotechnical investigation, new industrial approach, management of land acquisition, and pavement markings. JPR also designed municipal water and sanitary sewer extensions.

For Stonemont Court, JPR provided railroad coordination and the design of guardrail, storm sewer and stormwater conveyance side ditches, revetment rip-rap for embankment stabilization, special subgrade treatment for encountered undesirable subgrade soils, and a sanitary sewer lift station.
