As engineer for the Town of Bristol, JPR served in a role as project manager and support staff under the guidance of the Office of the Town Manager.
Commerce Drive functions as an access road for businesses within the Bristol Park for Industry area. Extensions in 2005, 2008, and 2014 indicated continuous growth, and with it an increase in traffic. Due to the limited width of the existing pavement – between 20 and 23 feet – access to businesses via passenger cars and semi-trailer trucks became increasingly difficult. This resulted in delays and an unsafe driving experience.
This project included HMA pavement widening, asphalt resurfacing, and pavement removal of a section of Commerce Drive – from SR 15 (Mottville Road) to a segment split 0.56-miles east of SR 15. By increasing the overall width of the road to between 26 and 39 feet, JPR provided vehicles that accessed the Bristol Park for Industry a more comfortable and secure experience.
