JPR worked with Thor Industries to design and manage the construction process for a new 22,960-square-foot, year-round pavilion.
The new pavilion, utilized by Thor for their annual RV show, needed to be completed by September 2019. The project began in February, and the team was approved to move dirt by March – a swift timeline for a project of this magnitude. JPR then completed the remaining design details and required approvals, moving the project along quickly.
Designed to offer an expanded area for hosting events, the new pavilion was the centerpiece of 27-acres of improvements on the east side of the existing site. The existing site, which included the RV/MH Hall of Fame, Museum, and Event Center, encompassed one million square feet of blacktop surface with parking lot lighting and landscaping. It also featured an RV rally site with electric hookups for approximately 230 RV’s.
The new pavilion includes large, overhead, full-glass garage doors that allow an abundance of natural light and fresh air into the space. It can seat 1,200 people at round tables or more than 2,500 people with theater seating. To accommodate a multitude of people, the facility boasts two family restrooms along with large restrooms for both men and women. The space also features a 1,100-square-foot prep room for catering and will allow for approximately 230 10-foot booths during events.
