Ivy Tech Community College Library Renovation

South Bend, Indiana

JPR completed a comprehensive Library Renovation Design Study for Ivy Tech Community College (ITCC). The primary objective of this project was to transform the existing library space into a modern, inviting, and technologically advanced learning hub. The existing library space was hidden from public view, had poor circulation, and was outdated in terms of technology and design.

JPR conducted a thorough analysis of the existing space, including its layout, functionality, and technology infrastructure. They also consulted with ITCC stakeholders to understand their specific needs and vision. Based on the assessment, JPR developed design concepts that addressed the identified issues and aligned with ITCC’s goals. This included creating a new entrance design, reconfiguring interior spaces, and selecting modern furnishings and equipment. JPR collaborated with ITCC’s IT department to integrate advanced technology solutions, ensuring that the library would support both traditional and digital learning methods. Throughout the project, JPR also engaged with the ITCC community to gather feedback and input, ensuring that the design would resonate with the college’s students, faculty, and staff.

The completed Study provided ITCC South Bend with a clear vision for the revitalization of its library space. The design addressed several issues to transform the library into a modern, welcoming, and technologically advanced resource center that would better serve the needs of the college and its community. It also laid the foundation for future renovations and improvements, enabling ITCC to create a vibrant and dynamic learning environment for its students and faculty.
