Named for its location, this project provided an expansion of services into an established neighborhood in the southwest corner of the Town of Middlebury.
Some of the neighborhood was already served by water, but it was at the far end of the system with no looping to maintain quality and adequate pressure to the hydrants. Through this project, municipal water was made available to every resident with new laterals, and looping along CR 35 and across US 20 was completed. The stormwater drainage and collection system was also evaluated and the entire Westlake subdivision and surrounding area was improved. Also serving as a septic elimination project, it brought the neighborhood into the Town’s sanitary collection system with the additions of a gravity collection system and a single new pump station.
Furthermore, this project provided connection points for future development beyond CR 35, and the project team coordinated with INDOT to make adjustments to match the future widening of US 20.
