LOCATION: South Bend, Indiana
      BUDGET: $3 Million
      CLIENT CONTACT: Andrew Berlin
      PROJECT MANAGER: David Rafinski

In 2014, Jones Petrie Rafinski (JPR) was awarded with the challenge of providing professional services for the South Bend Cubs Performance Center. This was an exciting project to work on with a challenging schedule. The project was started at the end of the baseball season and needed to be completed by April 1st, before the beginning of the next season so the South Bend Cubs could be ready for opening day on April 9th. The project was on a fast track which required a foundation release from the State of Indiana prior to having a full set of construction documents. There were minor changes to the program along with several changes to the shell of the building which affected the structural design and detailing. The client was very helpful with decisions that needed to be made by always keeping in mind the goal of the project was to be done by April 1st.

The South Bend Cubs Performance Center was constructed with a pre-engineered building structure with a brick and metal panel facade. It houses (6) batting cages, weight room, office, concessions, and has a great view of the stadium from the mezzanine level. Future plans include a walk out patio on the west side of the performance center.
