LAKEVILLE COMPREHENSIVE LAND-USE PLAN

      LOCATION: Lakeville, Indiana
      BUDGET: $2.2 Million
      CLIENT CONTACT: John Kuhn
PROJECT MANAGER: Chris Chockley, RLA, LEED AP and Stephanie Mumaw

In 2009, JPR assisted the Town of Lakeville in the re-design, improvement, and beautification of Michigan St./U.S. 31 through their downtown. They worked with both the Town Council and the Redevelopment Commission in determining what the Town represents to the community and how to depict this within the design of the streetscape.

This heavily themed design incorporated symbolic elements related to the natural wetlands and lakes surrounding the Town including ornamental street trees, street lighting, decorative crosswalks, plaza spaces, and bike lanes.

JPR provided services to apply for a Transportation Enhancement Grant to help fund this project which resulted in a Group IV Grant. JPR facilitated multiple meetings to ensure that the grant was successfully submitted.

A series of stakeholder meetings and public input sessions guaranteed that the plan will reflect the future vision of the community. Carefully integrating the wants of the Town with a realistic plan will be key to not only the success of the Plan, but the Town as well.
