The City of La Porte selected JPR to provide planning assistance to complete a citywide wayfinding plan. The goal of this wayfinding plan was to design gateway signage that would welcome visitors to the City while also designing and locating directional signage for over 25 destinations throughout the City of La Porte.

JPR worked with the City and community to determine the graphics, typography, and colors of the family of directional signage that would help brand the City while also paying tribute to the City's history and key elements. The graphics, typography, and color styles selected gained inspiration from the six lakes located within the City.

Through collaboration with the City and community, over 25 facilities and destinations were selected to be included in the signage program. JPR then investigated the physical location of each sign and gateway feature to identify opportunities and constraints. From this collaboration and research, JPR strategically located 7 gateway features and over 75 directional signs to provide efficient wayfinding signage for visitors.

The deliverable product at the conclusion of the study was a 30% Design Document package consisting of construction intent drawings and specifications for the City's gateway and wayfinding signs.
