Town of Macy Community Center

Macy, Indiana

JPR was asked to provide conceptual building and site plans, as well as a cost estimates, for the Town of Macy. To find sources of financial funding, the Town needed to submit the design to the State of Indiana. The project included the following programming:

• Large multi-purpose meeting rooms

• Large kitchen for banquet and catering capabilities

• Food pantry

• Public restroom facilities

• Secondary meeting spaces

The design intent was to create an efficient and cost-effective floor plan while still achieving a high-level of aesthetic appeal. The design revolved around the idea of a strong prominent entry “spine” where each primary space could then branch from. The exterior materials were selected to achieve an interesting yet subtle facade that would complement the existing architectural language already intact along the Town of Macy’s main street.
